Skill Levels: All Levels
Our sessions will focus on creating forms that are beautifully suited for altering, piercing, and carving. Students will learn to bring the clay to life using techniques appropriate for their form and style. We will also cover preparation of the pieces for glaze firing - including CRYSTALLINE GLAZING. While demonstrations will be done on the wheel, hand-builders are welcome and will benefit tremendously from the carving, altering and piercing demonstrations.
Beginning students will learn to make smaller, basic forms. Intermediate and advanced students will learn refining techniques to help give their work a more professional look and feel.
Students will also learn techniques for spraying colors, that are not normally achieved in high-fire oxidation, onto their work. If there is time, we will also experiment with reduction gas firing.
